This notice covers slirc.app, its waiting list, and Slirc instances we host. Each self-hosted instance is run by its own operator. For the app itself, see privacy and safety in the docs.
What we collect
- Your email address when you join waiting list.
- The team address you pick, and whether you want the source code link for self-hosting.
- Account, billing, and support details when your team uses hosted Slirc.
- Messages, files, and account data in your hosted instance.
Why we use it
We use waiting-list details to manage interest in hosted Slirc and contact you about service. We use account and billing details to run service and issue invoices. We process chat data only to host, back up, support, and secure your instance.
The legal basis for the waiting list is your consent, which you withdraw with the unsubscribe link in any email we send. For hosted service it is steps taken before a contract, performance of a contract, and our legitimate interest in running a secure service.
We do not sell or share waiting-list details, we do not enrich them with other data, and we use nothing for advertising or model training.
Hosting and access
Every hosted team gets its own app, IRC server, and storage in Europe. Slirc staff can access infrastructure and stored data when needed to operate, back up, secure, or support service. We do not read channels for advertising, analytics, or model training.
We use Resend, in Ireland, to deliver email. It processes recipient addresses and email content needed to send messages.
To limit abuse, the waiting-list form derives a rate-limit key from your connection address. The key lives in memory for one hour and is never written to disk.
Retention
We keep waiting-list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We delete the list within 90 days after launch. After service ends, you can export your history. We delete hosted instance 30 days later.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to Dutch Data Protection Authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Cookies
slirc.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views and performance without cookies. It does not identify visitors. Cloudflare also sees connection addresses because it serves the site as a CDN. Hosted Slirc uses essential session cookies to keep you signed in.
Changes
We update this page when service or data handling changes. Date at top shows latest version.
